    why quarterly and not monthly

    why quarterly and not monthly

most subscription boxes show up monthly. it feels generous. a little gift on the doorstep, every few weeks. we thought about it. then we decided against it.

here’s the thing nobody says out loud: a monthly box is built around the calendar, not your skin.

skincare doesn’t run on a 30-day clock. a good lip balm lasts. a hand cream lasts. a body balm lasts. if we sent you a fresh one every month, you’d end up with a drawer full of half-used tubes and a guilty feeling about waste. that’s not a gift. that’s clutter with a subscription attached.

monthly also forces a brand to keep inventing reasons to ship. new scent. limited edition. seasonal twist. the “drop.” it sounds exciting, but it’s mostly noise. it pushes you to buy things you don’t need so the box always feels full. we don’t want to design our products around the need to fill twelve boxes a year.

quarterly fits how the products actually get used. three months is about how long it takes to work through a balm if you’re using it like you should. you finish one, the next one arrives. no pile-up. no waste. no pressure.

it also fits how we make things. we work in small batches. every batch is mixed, poured, and checked by hand. four runs a year, done properly, beats twelve runs rushed. slower production means we can keep the standard high and the ingredient list short. when you make less, you can pay attention to all of it.

there’s a money side too, and we’ll be straight about it. natural ingredients cost more than fillers. a monthly box at a price that feels casual usually means corners got cut somewhere — cheaper oils, more water, more padding. quarterly lets us put the money into what’s actually in the tube instead of into shipping boxes you didn’t need yet.

and honestly, four times a year is a nicer rhythm. the box arrives often enough that you don’t forget about it, rarely enough that it still feels like something. you notice it. you use it. you run out right around the time the next one lands.

we’re not trying to be in your life every month. we’re trying to make three things you’ll actually use, and send them at a pace that respects both the products and you.

less often, done better. that’s the whole idea.

the quarterly box has a lip balm, a hand cream, and a body balm — made in small batches, with ingredients you can read. four boxes a year, no filler, no noise. subscribe and we’ll see you every season.
