Not Just a Lip Balm

A warm, lightly scented balm using beeswax as the structural base and cocoa butter for a subtle chocolate-mint character.

Ingredients

Beeswax: gives the balm its structure and lasting wear. forms a breathable barrier that locks moisture in without feeling waxy.
Virgin Coconut Oil: softens the balm and adds a light conditioning slip. unrefined so it keeps its natural fatty acids.
Raw Cocoa Butter: adds depth, a subtle chocolate note, and a rich, nourishing feel. solid at room temperature, which helps the balm hold shape.
Sunflower Seed Oil: light, fast-absorbing carrier oil that keeps the balm soft without heaviness. high in vitamin e naturally.
Vitamin E Oil: natural antioxidant. extends shelf life and helps condition lips over time.
essential oil: for that cool, clean finish. used sparingly — enough to notice, not enough to sting.

Not Just a Body Butter

A lightweight emulsified body butter — lighter than a traditional whipped butter, won't melt at room temperature, and absorbs without greasiness.

Ingredients

Distilled Water: the base of every water-phase formula. distilled so there are no minerals or contaminants to react with the rest of the recipe.
Vegetable Glycerine: a humectant — draws moisture to the skin and helps the formula hold onto it.
Emulsifying Wax NF: binds the water phase and the oil phase so the lotion actually absorbs instead of sitting on top of the skin.
Apricot Kernel Oil: light, high in oleic acid, suitable for most skin types. softens without leaving residue.
Refined Shea Butter: rich and nourishing, but refined so it's lighter than raw shea — no waxy film, no strong nutty smell.
Cetyl Alcohol: a fatty alcohol (not the drying kind) that smooths and thickens the texture without making it feel waxy.
Geogard ECT (preservative): a broad-spectrum, naturally derived preservative (ecocert/cosmos approved) used at low concentration in water-based formulas. without it, anything containing water will grow bacteria and mould within days — this keeps the product safe across its shelf life.

Not Just a Hand Lotion

A lightweight, fast-absorbing hand lotion with a non-greasy finish — comes as a pair: a full-size bottle for home and a smaller one for on the go.

Geogard ECT (preservative): a broad-spectrum, naturally derived preservative (ecocert/cosmos approved) used at low concentration in water-based formulas. without it, anything containing water will grow bacteria and mould within days — this keeps the product safe across its shelf life.

what you won't find

a short list of things we keep out of every formula, on purpose:

parabens — common preservatives we choose not to use.
phthalates — plasticizers sometimes hidden in synthetic fragrance.
synthetic fragrance — no "parfum" blends. scent, when present, comes from a small amount of essential oil.
mineral oil and petrolatum — we'd rather use plant-derived oils that absorb instead of sit on top of the skin.
formaldehyde-releasing preservatives (DMDM hydantoin, imidazolidinyl urea, etc.).
filler oils added just to pad out the ingredient list.

one honest note on preservatives: any product containing water needs a preservative, or it will grow bacteria and mould within days. for our water-based lotions and butters we use Geogard ECT at the lowest effective concentration — it's a naturally derived, ecocert/cosmos-approved broad-spectrum option that isn't a paraben or formaldehyde-releaser. the lip balm is anhydrous (no water), so it needs no preservative at all.

patch testing & sensitive skin

our formulas are intentionally short and gentle, but everyone's skin is different. if you have known sensitivities — especially to essential oils, nut-derived butters, or coconut — we recommend a patch test on the inside of your forearm before using more broadly. for external use only. not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

sourcing & batches

everything is made in small batches in toronto. ingredients are sourced from canadian and north american suppliers where possible. formulas are tested and refined at a box rhythm — when something doesn't perform, we change it. if you ever want to know the batch your box came from, email hello@dansallnatural.com with your order number.
