why we only make 3 things
why we only make 3 things
most skincare brands want you to believe you need a lot of products.
a cleanser, a toner, a serum, an eye cream, a day moisturizer, a night moisturizer. maybe a mask for weekends. maybe a “targeted treatment” for something you didn’t know was a problem until they told you it was.
it adds up fast. and most of it is unnecessary.
we make three things: a lip balm, a hand cream, and a body balm. that’s the whole line. it’s not that we haven’t thought about expanding — it’s that we thought about it carefully and decided not to.
three products is a decision, not a default.
when you make fewer things, you can make them better. every batch we produce goes into one of those three products. our attention doesn’t get split across a dozen skus. we know these formulas intimately. we’ve made small tweaks over time — a slight adjustment to the hand cream texture in winter, a change in how we source one ingredient — and we can do that because we’re not managing a sprawling catalog.
there’s also something honest about a small line. it tells you exactly what we think skin actually needs: a barrier on the lips, moisture in the hands (which take the most abuse), and something rich for the rest of you. not a ten-step routine. not a glow serum. just the basics, done right.
simplicity is harder to fake.
a long ingredient list can hide a lot. fillers, preservatives, synthetic fragrances — they’re easier to justify when there’s already a wall of text. but when you only make three products, every ingredient has to earn its place. there’s nowhere to hide anything.
our formulas are short on purpose. beeswax. shea butter. cocoa butter. a carrier oil. sometimes a touch of vitamin e. you can read the label out loud in about fifteen seconds. that’s not marketing — it’s just what happens when you refuse to add anything that isn’t doing real work.
it also means we can make things in small batches.
a large product line almost forces scale. you need volume to justify the complexity. small batches are only possible when you’re not trying to manage fifty different formulations at once. small batches mean fresher product, closer attention, and more control over quality at every step.
we check every batch. we know what went into it. we can stand behind it.
the subscription model fits this.
three products, four times a year. that’s it. you’re not subscribing to a rotating mystery of new launches and limited editions. you’re subscribing to three things you’ll actually use, replenished before you run out. it’s designed to be the last skincare decision you have to make for a while.
if you’re tired of being sold complexity, the quarterly subscription is for you. three products, straightforward ingredients, made in small batches.
